about
"I wrote this song in 2008 shortly after my arrival in Tampa, FL. I shared the demo with multiple people with very positive reception. In late 2015 while in Minneapolis, MN my producer and I decided to record this song and make it a little stronger by adding a new chorus. This is also the first song with contributions musically from the new band-mates. In early 2016, we finally decided it was finished and ready for release as the new line-ups first single. We are releasing this as a single with a couple more singles to follow an eventual second album release." - Tracy Perry Jr.
lyrics
To say,
You don't need anyone; you don't need me
And on this day it sticks with me, like modern history
And I just stay even though you turn on me
I can’t believe I don't, run away
Run away...
If I run away will my spot be saved?
Or will it be filled by the next one, wouldn't that be a shame?
It’s just depression, I am guessing, please let me explain...
Where is the only place I’m safe?
To know your eyes, they don't see anyone, they don't see me
And I keep hesitating looking for a sign
I can’t believe I don’t run away
If I run away will my spot be saved?
Or will it be filled by the next one, wouldn’t that be a shame?
It's just depression, I am guessing, when will it go away?
Where is the only place I’m
If I run away will my spot be safe?
Or will it be filled by the next one who calls your name?
It’s just depression, I am guessing, it can’t be erased
Where is the only place I’m safe?
